About

forgamenhl.com is an independent editorial index. It keeps eleven hotels, gives each of them a page, and writes that page in prose. There is no algorithm behind the selection and no commercial relationship behind any entry.

Why eleven

Because eleven is what survived the cut. A longer list would mean including properties that repeat one another, and repetition is the one thing an index of this size cannot afford. When a section runs out of genuinely distinct buildings — as the ice section has — it stops.

How an entry is built

Each hotel gets a standfirst, four or five paragraphs and a short set of plain facts. We describe the building, the setting, the rooms and the facilities that actually change a stay. Where a property has a gaming floor, it is recorded as one facility among several.

Not on this site

• Scores, stars, rankings and best-of lists.
• Reviews, ours or anyone else's.
• Rates, availability and booking of any kind.
• Claims we could not stand behind if asked.

Keeping it current

Hotels refurbish, close wings and change hands; seasonal properties move their dates. If an entry has drifted out of date, tell us — the contact page has the address.
