The Z Hotel Bank
London, United Kingdom
Small rooms, most without a window, in a City district that empties at the weekend.
The Z Hotel Bank stands minutes from the Bank interchange, among the streets that run toward Leadenhall. Its rooms are compact by design; many have no window, or borrow light through internal glazing.
What is consistent is the specification: a good mattress, a walk-in shower, a wall screen, air handling that actually moves air. Nothing is offered that the floor plan cannot support.
Public space is thin — a small lounge, a minimal breakfast — because the hotel assumes its guests are elsewhere until late.
For one or two nights of business in the City, the arithmetic is straightforward. For a weekend of sightseeing, the district itself argues against it.
